National News: Political activity in Bihar is heating up as assembly elections approach. While the opposition’s Grand Alliance is on the road with its ‘Voter Rights Yatra,’ alleging large-scale vote theft, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is preparing to go on the offensive. With the monsoon session of Parliament now over, the NDA has unveiled a detailed election plan aimed at countering the opposition and energizing its grassroots workers.

According to the plan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a major rally in Gaya on August 22. Immediately after this event, the NDA will kick off its election campaign across Bihar from August 23, signaling the start of a high-voltage political battle.

14 Teams to Cover 84 Constituencies

The NDA has constituted 14 teams comprising 7 senior leaders each to spearhead its campaign. These teams will operate in two phases between August 23 and August 30, covering 84 constituencies in the initial round. Each team will tour six assembly constituencies over six days, holding meetings, rallies, and press interactions.

The teams will have representation from all NDA allies, including the BJP, JDU, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM-S), and Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha (RLM), ensuring an inclusive outreach.

The first team will be led by JDU working president Sanjay Jha, with senior leaders such as Union Ministers Giriraj Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey, and Ramnath Thakur. Both Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with state presidents of all NDA parties, will also actively participate in the campaign.

Worker Conferences and Press Briefings

The campaign will not only focus on public rallies but also on worker-level conferences at the assembly level. These meetings aim to boost grassroots coordination among NDA cadres ahead of the elections. Leaders will also hold joint press conferences to highlight the achievements of the NDA governments at both the Centre and the state, presenting their governance record as the coalition’s biggest strength.

Sources within the BJP revealed that this campaign was planned much earlier and is designed to run in sync with PM Modi’s visit. The workers’ conferences are expected to energize the cadre base and prepare the ground for aggressive campaigning in the coming months.

Opposition’s Counter-Campaign

Meanwhile, the opposition has launched its ‘Voter Rights Yatra’—a 13,000-kilometer march through 20 districts that will conclude in Patna on September 1. Spearheaded by the Congress, RJD, and their allies, the campaign accuses the NDA government of widespread electoral malpractice, including alleged “vote theft.”

As the opposition rallies to consolidate anti-incumbency sentiment, the NDA is preparing to launch a direct counter-offensive, aiming to project unity, highlight development achievements, and energize its workers at the grassroots. With both alliances gearing up, Bihar is set to witness a fiercely contested electoral battle in the weeks ahead.
